Rs 454.235 million earmarked for 17 broadcasting projects
ISLAMABAD, June 08 2005: The government has earmarked Rs 454.235 million for 17 information and broadcasting division projects in Public Sector Development Program (PSDP), 2005-06. Almost all the projects are ongoing except one new project, i.e, upgrading and advancement of technology phase-I worth Rs 6.360 million.
THE ONGOING PROJECTS INCLUDED:
-the replacement of electronic equipment (Rs 300m);
-expansion of educational TV channel PTV -2, Ph-III(Rs1m);
-TV production and transmission facilities for A.J &K(Rs1m)
RELAY STATIONS AT:
-Qila Saifullah (Rs15m),
-Umerkot (Rs15m),
-Orakzai (Rs4.390m),
-South Waziristan (Rs4.3216m)
-Mohmand agency (Rs4.390m),
-Ziarat (Rs1m),
-Pooran (Rs11.850m),
-Besham (Rs8m),
-Skargarh (Rs30m),
-Buner (Rs8m) and
-Kund Bangla (Rs8m).
Other projects include: 100 KW MW transmitter and broadcast house at Turbat (Rs27.629m),and change-over from 35mm films to digital video, BF building Islamabad (Rs8.4m).
Besides this, Rs6.360m would be spent on upgrading and
advancement of technology phase-I.
