Rs 140m relief to film industry

LAHORE- Punjab Minister for Finance & Excise and Taxation, Tariq Hameed, has said that the provincial government has provided Rs 140 million relief to the film industry; hence it is the obligation of cinema owners to pass on the benefit of this relief to the viewers.

The Finance Minister expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Pakistan Film Distributors Association and Pakistan Film Exhibitors Association.

He said that one of the main objectives of this relief was to promote the sick film industry as well as cinema business.

The Punjab Government would request the Federal Government to reduce the import duty on raw material of the films. He also assured the cinema owners to review the issue of fixed tax and other problems.
