‘Release of judges first gift of democracy’
SLAMABAD: Release of deposed judges, including chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, is the first gift of democracy for the people of Pakistan, Justice Javed Iqbal said on Monday.
“There is dire need that all the stakeholders should adopt a reconciliatory approach,” he said.
The matter of the deposed judges is in parliament and we should give an opportunity to parliament which is a sovereign body.
“He said that the statement of newly-elected Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani at the floor of the House was encouraging which gave a lot of hope to the nation.
