Relatives seek return of Afghan woman
PESHAWAR: The alleged brother and stepson of a young Afghan woman Maryam, who escaped from Afghanistan after contracting love marriage and took shelter in Abbottabad, have appealed to the chief justice of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) to hand her over to them after proper investigation.
Speaking at a news conference here on Monday, Fawad and Javed claimed that Maryam’s real name was Moloda and she was already married and had two children. They alleged that Maryam was 27-year old but she claimed to be 18. They appealed to the chief justice PHC to direct the relevant authorities to conduct her DNA test to ascertain the facts.
