Registration of case against veena: Court summons SHO

LAHORE – Additional District and Sessions Judge Mehar Muhammad Yousif on Monday summoned SHO Shalimar on January 24 against a petition seeking registration of a criminal case against TV and film star Veena Malik for indulging in immoral activities in India.

Mian Muhammad Iqbal, resident of Baghbanpurra, filed a petition through his counsel seeking registration of criminal case against the artist.

He said in his petition that a few days ago Veena Malik participated in a dance party in India where she was drinking wine with an Indian actor. He added the dance party was covered by international media.

He contended this act of the film actress hurt his sentiments as well as other Muslims of the world. The petitioner informed the court that he had filed an application under 298 PPC in Shalimar Police Station but the SHO concerned had refused to entertain his application owing to which he moved the court for the registration of case against Veena. He requested the court to direct the SHO Shalimar to register a case against Veena as per abovementioned law. The court after going through the petition summoned the SHO and directed him to submit his comments regarding the said petition.
