Recently married couple murdered
KARACHI: Unidentified criminals killed a recently married couple within the jurisdiction of the Korangi Industrial Area Police Station.
Police said that 35-year-old Wilayat Ali and his wife, 25-year-old Mina, were residents of Awami Colony No. 2. Mina was sick and her husband had just come back home with medicine. When he got home the unidentified suspects, who the police said were following him, stopped him and stabbed and shot him. Ali’s wife saw this and came out to save him but the culprits stabbed her as well. Both of them died at the scene.
Police said that victims came to Karachi around six months ago and they were originally from the NWFP. Police speculated that they might have had a love marriage, which resulted in them having to run away from home. The bodies were taken to the Edhi morgue after medical formalities at the JPMC. An FIR had not been lodged by the time this report was filed.
