Real development lies in media freedom: Memon
KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has welcomed the Supreme Court verdict for the implementation of the 7th Wage Board Award and termed it the success of journalists and print media.
In a statement on Thursday, Memon felicitated journalists on the decision and said that it would help reduce their problems and provide opportunity to carry out their professional duties with peace of mind. He said the decision was due to sacrifices rendered by newsmen and said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) always believed in freedom of media, democracy and expression.
Memon said any civilised society could not imagine development without existence of free media, that was why the PPP stood by journalists shoulder to shoulder in their struggle for freedom of press.
