Rape victim calls for arrest of tormentors
MIRPURKHAS: A rape victim staged a demonstration here on Friday outside the press club in protest against police failure in arresting her tormentor Kewal Meghwar and his accomplices.
Carrying placard, widow Saira Solangi was demanding arrest of the accused.
The victim accused police of receiving bribe from the accused who she said was threatening her with dire consequences if she did not withdraw an FIR lodged against him.
Ms Solangi said she also submitted an application to the district and sessions court of Mirpurkhas, requesting to order arrest of the accused.
She said that the court called in-charge investigation of Town police on March 29.
She appealed to Chief Justice the president, prime minister and chief minister to take notice of the matter.
