Rape-tainted cops fired from service

SHEIKHUPURA: District Police Officer Rana Abdul Jabbar terminated from service three police officials including a Head Constable and two constables posted at Safdarabad Police Station on charges of involvement in a rape incident happened in Mandi Dhaban Singh locality.

According to details, Roqia Bibi, a resident of Mandi Dhaban Singh, submitted a complaint to the DPO, alleging that HC Zafar Iqbal along with Constable Wasim Afzal and Mubashar Iqbal entered her forcibly and raped her some three week ago. Following the allegations, the DPO constituted an inquiry and during the course of investigation found guilty all the three police staffers. In the light of the inquiry report, the DPO terminated them from service.

Meanwhile, the guilty police officials accused that the complainant Roqia Bibi had been running a brothel in the area for the last several years. They said that they raided the house following locals complaints about immoral activities in the said house.
