Rallies, demos denounce publication of blasphemous caricatures ~
SUKKUR: Different religious parties took out protest rallies and staged protest demonstrations and sit-ins in front of Sukkur Press Club against publication of blasphemous caricatures in a Danish newspaper.
The protesters demanded to end diplomatic ties with Denmark and also boycotted import of Danish products in the country.

Ahmed, Central Leader Majlis Tahaffuz Khatam-e-Nabuwat Moulana Bashir Ahmed, Moulana Muhammad Hussain, Moulana Ellahi Bux Tanwari, Moulana Abdul Latif Ashrafi, Moulana Mir Muhammad Chachar led the protest rally, which was attended by 500 people belonging to different walks of life.
The rally marched through different areas of Sukkur City including Minara Road, Clock Tower, Shaheed Ganj, Sarafa Bazar, Neem-Ki-Chari and others.
Later, the participants of the rally staged protest demonstration and sit-in in front of the Sukkur Press Club. Addressing on the occasion, Moulana Qari Khalil Ahmed, Moulana Abdul Latif Ashrafi and Moulana Mir Muhammad condemned the Danish newspaper, which published the blasphemous caricature.
They said that anti-Islamic forces were behind this act to achieve their nefarious aims. They demanded the rulers to have a bill approved called ‘Tahaffuz Namoos-e-Risalat’ in the United Nations.
Meanwhile, Jafaria Students Organisation District Sukkur also took out a protest rally against the publishing of blasphemous caricature. The protesters held banners and placards. They chanted slogans against the Danish newspaper. They also staged a protest demonstration in front of the Sukkur Press Club.
The Sunni Tehreek also held a similar rally, where scores of activists took part and staged a demonstration in front of press club, Thull on Sunday, against the publication of blasphemous caricatures in a newspaper of Denmark.
The ST activists led by Barkat Naseerani, Zahid Shah and Moulana Hashim Tanwri, took to the streets from Madina Chowk, marched the main streets of the town, and reached the press club, where they staged a demonstration.
