PTV poverty
THESE days every government functionary is talking about his individual poverty. Nobody talks about PTV’s poverty. According to the latest directions issued by PTV Headquarters, Islamabad, the PTV management has directed all re-broadcasting stations in the NWFP to close down their telecasting services during load-shedding hours because the HQ has no funds for its stand-by power generators.
The majority of people in the NWFP are deprived of access to latest news reports and other programmes on PTV because they do not have cable or dish antennae facilities. My question to Qamar Zaman Kaira is a simple one: Is Mr Kaira head of PTV or head of private channels?
