PTV outside Pemra purview: Abdul Jabbar
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority Chairman Abdul Jabbar has said the state-run PTV does not fall within the purview of Pemra.
Speaking in a state-run TV programme on Monday, he said Pemra was not authorised to check PTV’s agreements with any other channels. According to the Pemra Act, foreign channels are not issued any licences but only landing rights in Pakistan, he added. Jabbar said CNN, BBC and Ten Sports have also been given only landing rights in the country.
