PTCL restores submarine optical fiber
LAHORE – The PTCL has re-stored the eastern side of the SeaMeWe-3 Submarine Optical Fiber Cable on October 7, 2003. This arrangement enabled customers to avail uninterrupted internet services via Eastern Segment STM-I.The company in a Press statement on Monday said, the repair work on SMW-3 Cable is on schedule. Final jointing and testing to connect the Eastern & Western Segments of SeaMeWe-3 will be carried out from Tuesday (today) to Wednesday (tomorrow).
During this duration, all SeaMeWe-3 traffic in both Eastern & Western direction will once again remain out of service. The PTCL arranged alternate international connectivity via Satellite for international voice, Internet and private leased circuits will be Operational during this planned outage, the press release concluded.
