PTA told to report about ban on cable TV channels
LAHORE- Mr. Justice Karamat Nazir Bhandari of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Friday sought comments, within two weeks, from Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), and the Information Ministry, on a petition which questioned ban on transmitting Indian TV channels through cable operations.
Advocate M.D Tahir, stated in his petition that as a result of ban the telecast of other TV channels like Al Jazeera, which were airing impartial reports on the tense situation between India and Pakistan, have also been closed down. Undoubtedly Indian channels are telecasting poisonous propaganda reports against Pakistan, yet Pakistan needs to counter this situation through media, he agues.
