Protest as journalist attacked

CHENABNAGAR: Armed men attacked local journalist Tahir Razzak who was on his way to Chiniot by motorbike. When he reached Pahari Darrah, the attackers riding on a car stopped him and tried to put him in their car. The journalist offered resistance. Resultantly, one of the attackers opened fire on him but he narrowly escaped. Meanwhile, the other attacker hit him from behind and he got serious injuries. The journalists from Chiniot, Lalian and Chenabnagar protested against the attack. ANTI-DENGUE SEMINAR: A seminar was held to create awareness regarding the menace of dengue at Nusrat Jehan Inter Collage on the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Principal Dr Syed Jalleed Ahmad Shah organised a comprehensive program including a meeting, anti-dengue walk of faculty and students, establishment of two dengue awareness camps— one at Rajike Road and other at Aqsa Choke, registration of the volunteers and larvicide training by Prof Sajid Sultan. The principal himself monitored all the activities. In the seminar, the principal said dengue vaccine will likely be available in 2015. Till then, we are to wage a war against this creature and we are determined to eradicate dengue. He advised the students to impart information of dengue to general public of their respective areas.
