Private companies can buy, sell Pakistan Television (PTV) shows

KARACHI- The Private production companies will now have an opportunity to buy programmes produced by the Pakistan Television (PTV) and later sell them again to PTV.

This was revealed by the General Manger (GM) of Karachi Television Centre, Ather Waqar Azeem, at a Press preview held in connection with the new quarter programmes, at the Karachi TV Centre.

Later talking to The Nation, the GM said that this marketing idea would certainly succeed adding that the PTV has been introducing new ideas in marketing recently.

Ather Waqar Azeem also said that now the 9.30 pm slot will be made important from the marketing point of view. The 5:00 pm slot will similarly be made important and this will be for regional programmes. A cell has been created for all this at PTV headquarters in Islamabad under the guidance of Ziaul Rehman.

The GM further said that since Junaid Jamshed did not attend two consecutive programmes for which he was invited, it is being recommended to ban his coverage from all the centers of PTV for six months. He was invited in the programme held to pay tributes to Mehdi Hassan but at the eleventh hour, he preferred to attend a commercial show.
