President tells Sindh government to launch pro-Zulfikarabad media campaign

Karachi: President Asif Ali Zardari has directed the Sindh government to launch a media campaign for the proposed Zulfikarabad city to clarify any misconceptions created by nationalist forces.

The president directed this to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah who called on the president at the Bilawal House on Wednesday.

Sources said the president advised the Sindh government to hold seminars all over the province and arrange media briefings to highlight the positive aspects of the proposed project.

The president was also concerned about the propaganda of the nationalist forces within and outside the country who were terming the project as anti-Sindh.

He also directed the chief minister to hold inquiry into the tampering of the revenue record specially the allotments of lands in Karachi through forged documents.

He directed that all records be scrutinised to check whether allotments were actual or illegal to take action against those involved in the tampering. The president directed that every record be checked to remove encroachments from the government land.

Sources said that former Sindh home minister, Manzoor Wassan, was also called on the president. The former minister discussed the political situation of the province including the new responsibility to be handed over to him by the PPP government.

Sindh Minister for Works and Communication Nadir Magsi was also called on the president. He briefed the president about the Balochistan situation.
