President takes note of girl’s killing
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has taken serious note of the reports of the kidnapping and murder of a three-year old girl in Korangi, Karachi.
Spokesperson of the president Farhatullah Babar said that the president was shocked over reports of the alleged involvement of two policemen in the incident and asked for a complete report from the provincial government within 24 hours.
According to media reports, the suspects allegedly kidnapped the girl last week while she was playing outside her house in Korangi. The suspects allegedly killed the victim and dumped her body in a manhole but were caught when a playmate raised alarm, according to the prosecution story.
Thorough investigations must be carried out into the gory incident without fear or favour and the culprits involved in this heinous crime must be apprehended and severely punished under the law, the president said.
