PPF shows concerns over the death of Congolese radio journalist

Pakistan Press Foundation has condemned the death of Congolese radio journalist Guylain Chandjaro in Bunia. He was a Swahili-language journalist with Radio Canal Révélation, a community radio station.

Quoting information from Reporters Without Borders (RSF), PPF Secretary General Owais Aslam Ali in a letter to the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Friday, his body was found in the bed of the River Ngezi – which crosses the city – on 17 May, 12 days after he went missing. He was buried later the same day. Chandjaro’s body bore the marks of injuries on the back of the neck so he was clearly murdered.
PPF vehemently condemns this tortured murder and calls on the government to immediately begin a serious investigation into the matter. Those responsible for the murder should be found and prosecuted.
