PPAF SUPPORTS BALOCHISTAN YOUTH SKILL DEVELOPMENT
Islamabad: The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and Taraqee Foundation held a Youth Employment Balochistan: Visa Distribution Ceremony and launched the concept of “Balochistan Skills Enhancement Program” at a local hotel in Islamabad. The event was attended by eminent members of the Government of Balochistan, donor representatives, members of the National Assembly and senators.
The Chief Guest at the event was Professor Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reforms. Amjad Rasheed, CEO, Taraqee Foundation, said, “Taraqee Foundation has collaborated with the Government of Balochistan, PPAF and skill providers to give the youth internationally recognized trainings and help them gain overseas employment opportunities.” Zulfiqar Ahmed Durrani, Secretary Planning & Development Department, Government of Balochistan, said, “The credit of this initiative goes to PPAF and Taraqee Foundation. We need to understand that there is a limit to how many jobs can be created by the government and many of the jobs the government can create are clerical in nature.
Balochistan has been undergoing numerous crises and insurgencies and we need to keep the youth from becoming disillusioned. Providing the youth with skills and jobs is a critically important step in bringing prosperity to Balochistan.” Qazi Azmat Isa, CEO, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, said, “Balochistan is the future of Pakistan and in the recent years there has been growing hope for Balochistan in part due to responsible leadership working towards sustainable change.
