Police refuse to book landlord’s son

MANSEHRA, Aug 12: Police have refused to lodge a case against the son of an influential landlord and his accomplice who allegedly detained and assaulted six women of a family here.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Nasreen, Qasim Noor and Zakia Bibi of village Balala Bandi accused the Garhi Habibullah police of siding with the influential men and refusing to register a crime report.

They named Nizakat Ali and Mohammad Liaquat as suspects and accused them of detaining the women in a cattle pen for over six hours on Friday.

They had allegedly told the women that they were being punished for trespassing on their forestland and collecting fuel wood without permission.

The victims demanded that a case be registered against the suspects.

They also appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan to take suo motu action over the case. They also alleged that the suspects were threating to their family members.
