PNCA committed to looking after welfare of artists, says director
ISLAMABAD: Talking to Daily Times, PNCA Director performing art Hassan Abbas Raza said council was a national organisation and it was committed to looking after welfare of artists belonging from all provinces.
“When an artist fall ill, the council recommends his/ her name and Ministry of Culture helps the artist. There are three categories on which the council is working- in first category the artist is provided Rs 40,000 to 50,000 just once, in second category, the council helped the artist granting Rs 5000 on monthly basis while in third category. PNCA forwarded the case of artist to an NGO ‘Infaaq Foundation’ is helping artist community silently since many years,” Raza said. When asked about the PNCA role under ministry of Information and broadcasting, he said coverage of art events would definitely be enhanced and thus cultural promotion would be improved.
