ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) has arranged a week-long miniature painting workshop for the students at the National Art Gallery (NAG).A workshop on miniature painting of Basheer Ahmed would be a great opportunity for the students to meet an artist of such stature, experience, and to get first-hand knowledge of his techniques and styles. He is famous not only for his remarkable work but also for his contributions to the development and promotion of miniature painting. Ahmed has helped a lot for the revival of miniature painting in the country.As a teacher, he has the credit of designing the degree programme in miniature painting and launching it in NCA.

This is the first ever degree programme in miniature painting in the subcontinent. He has devoted his life to the promotion and propagation of art, and more specifically to the promotion of miniature painting.— to organise stage play ‘Gudian Patoolay’ today: The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) is organising a two-day stage play “Gudian Patoolay” at the PNCA Auditorium from today (Tuesday).Famous artists Aslam Mughal, Iffat Chaudhary, Saeed Anwar, Laiba Ali Arslan, Majeed Raja, Raheel Mustafa, and Ali Jawaid would perform in the play, said the PNCA official. He said that a large number of people are expected to attend the event. “The PNCA is working for the promotion of art and artists,” he added.
