PM shocked by production of Nawaz’s pardon papers
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has expressed surprise that pardon documents of the Sharif brothers were produced by the Sindh advocate-general in the Supreme Court. He said his government had not issued any instruction in this regard to the provincial government.
Sources said that Leader of the Opposition Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had called the prime minister and protested against the advocate-general’s action.
According to the sources, the prime minister said that he was unaware of the move, which was described by some analysts as a deliberate attempt to damage the political atmosphere.
The sources said that the PM not only expressed his dismay but also told Chaudhry Nisar that neither President Asif Ali Zardari nor Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah had issued any instruction in the matter.
