Plea for justice in woman’s murder case
HYDERABAD: The Women Action Forum (WAF) has appealed to human rights groups to condemn the recent murder of Ms Zakiya Wassan in Khairpur.
The woman was murdered by her husband and his friends on June 26, in Kamal Wassan village in the Kumb area of Kotdiji taluka.
Forum’s spokesperson Prof Amar Sindhu urged local police to arrest culprits without delay and expedite judicial process.
She said in a statement that Zakiya lived in an area which was the constituency of a PPP minister and his representatives were telling the woman’s parents that the matter would be settled soon.
The WAF demanded immediate arrest of accused, autopsy of the body and police protection to the parents who were receiving threats.
