Photographers’ role lauded

LAHORE: Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday said that photographer had presented a positive picture of Pakistan before the world.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of a photographic exhibition held under the aegis of Photo Journalists Association at the Lahore Press Club on Saturday, Pervaiz Rashid said that, like other departments, we are not behind in the field of photography. Our photographers have made high quality portraits of the world despite lack of facilities and modern technology.

Newly elected LPC president Sarmad Bashir, Vice President Azam Ch., Azhar Hussain Jaffery, Wasim Niaz, Nawaz Alam, Pervaiz Shah and Iqbal Ch were also present.

After inaugural of the exhibition, Pervaiz Rashid appreciated the quality photographs captured by various photographers. He also gave away shield to Arif Ali, a photographer, on behalf of the Association and appreciated his work. The photographer has also got an award from India in the field.

Pervaiz Rashid said that the photographs displayed at the exhibition needed no caption. He said that the soft image of Pakistan could be presented through symbolic photography.
