PFUJ Unification Committee meets, discusses next elections
ISLAMABAD: The Unification Committee of PFUJ met in Islamabad on Monday under the chairmanship of M. Ziauddin. The chairman apprised the members about his recent visit to Lahore to forge consensus for the next PFUJ elections.
According to a press release the chairman expressed his satisfaction that the senior journalists, PFUJ veterans and office-bearers of PFUJ expressed their full support to the committee for holding next elections.
The Unification Committee members were of the view that a similar consensus should also be achieved in Karachi. The Committee authorised its chairman M. Ziauddin and member Shahid-ur-Rehman to visit Karachi to meet veterans, members of PFUJ as well as senior journalists, previous and present KUJ office bearers to bring them on one page and achieve consensus.
The Committee also formed a sub-committee to draw a questionnaire which would be sent to all UJ’s to seek their comments on the 2013 Elections. The committee reiterated to carry out fresh elections as well as inquiry into 2013 Elections.
The Committee decided that the election schedule would be issued after the visit of M. Ziauddin and Shahid-ur-Rehman to Karachi. The meeting was attended by M. Ziauddin, Shahid-ur-Rehman and Nasir Malik. Some UJ’s and senior journalists were also consulted by the committee over telephone.
