‘PFUJ to encourage honest journalists’

SUKKUR – Newly elected Secretary General of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) Ameen Yousuf paid a visit to Sukkur Press Club and met with the office-bearers of the Indus Union of Journalists (IUJ).

Secretary General of Karachi Union of Journalists Hassan Abbas and other senior journalists were also accompanied him. Speaking on the occasion, Ameen Yousuf said that PFUJ would always encourage hard working, honest and dedicated journalists, as our aim and object was to bring those journalists in the forefront, who could work for the welfare of poor masses by highlighting their genuine problems.

He said that it was the first time that a journalist from Sindh had been elected as the Secretary General of PFUJ, added that this would prove a milestone in achieving better results.

From day one, he said, it was our endeavour to bring young and honest journalists in the forefront not only to encourage them but to make them responsible.

He said that the PFUJ would continue its struggle for the resolution of the problems being faced by the journalists at all platforms including the government and the owners of print and electronic media President Indus Union of Journalists Imdad Bozdar, secretary general Pervez Khan, Zaman Bajwah, Rasheed Raza, Arif Memon, Mehtab Ansari, Mukhtiar Shami, Tahir Warsi and others were also present on the occasion.
