PFUJ expresses solidarity with Geo News staff
ISLAMABAD: Journalists from Rawalpindi and Islamabad ON Saturday visited Geo offices in Islamabad under the leadership of PFUJ President Afzal Butt to express solidarity with the channel employees. Geo News workers welcomed the visiting journalists and thanked them for their support.
Speaking on the occasion, Afzal Butt said from day one the union leader had played their role to end the problem through talks. He said the Pemra did not play its real role to settle the issue. He told Geo News employees that he had talked to the channel administration about their salaries and was assured that the workers will get their full month salary.
Apnec Secretary General Ikram Bokhari, RIUJ President Ali Raza Alvi and FEC member Qurban Satti also addressed on the occasion. On behalf of Geo News Qaisar Butt, Masood Abdur Raheem, Arshad Waheed Chaudhry, Qazi Salman, Farhat Javed and others thanked the union leaders for their solidarity with them.
