Peshawar CCPO directs subordinates ‘Be decent with media’

PESHAWAR: The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Imtiaz Altaf, has directed police officials to eliminate militants and criminals to ensure peace in the provincial capital and adopt decent behaviour towards the public.

The CCPO was addressing a meeting of officers of the capital city police. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP-coordination) Mohammad Yamin Khan was also present on the occasion.

The CCPO directed all circle SPs, SDPOs and SHOs to cooperate with the media performing their professional duties. He expressed his anger over the recent incidents of manhandling of journalists and ordered the officers to avoid such an attitude in future.
The policemen should behave with public, especially those coming to lodge complaints at the police station. They should not be discouraged and should be provided justice,î he said. He made it clear that the performance of the force will be gauged from its reputation in the public.

The new city police chief directed the police supervisory staff to ensure the provision of facilities to the Frontier Constabulary personnel performing duty at police stations, barricades, entry points and other places.
