People across Punjab hail Geo’s restoration

LAHORE: People have expressed their immense pleasure over restoration of Geo News channel transmission at cable network. However, they complained that their most favourite channel has not been restored to their original numbers on the cable network.

In Gujrat, common citizens, civil society members, political activists, traders and students expressed their joy at Geo transmission restoration. Gujrat University student Sidra Ehsan said the imposition of a ban on Geo was illegal.

Government Zamindara Degree College Bhimber Road student Abid Mehmood showed his love for Geo channel and pledged to stand by it in all circumstances.

In Sialkot, a citizen SM Shahid said Geo had not been restored in his city despite passage of 15-day ban period, which was really condemnable.

Okara Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Dr Liaquat Ali Kausar said Geo always reflected the true picture of society due to professionalism among its employees.

PPP Okara President Muhammad Ashraf Sohna said Geo restoration has bridged the gap between news and the people. Shia Ulema Council Punjab Naib President Syed Ameer Hussain Mustafabadi said there was no doubt that Geo is the biggest network of the country.

In Sahiwal, citizens said cable operators were violating the law by not restoring Geo transmission. Muhammad Asim, Muhammad Azam, Muhammad Younus, Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Yasir Arbaz, Hafiz Arshad and other said the government should play its role for restoration of Geo to its previous numbers on cable network.

PML-N District Sahiwal Joint Secretary Sheikh Fahim Ahmad, Jamhoori Ittehad District Sahiwal Senior Vice President Haji Wali Muhammad Darawar lauded restoration of Geo transmission.

Former deputy attorney general Ch Muhammad Munsha Baath Advocate said in Kassowal people’s confidence has restored with the restoration of Geo transmission.

In Pakpattan, people said they were happy to see again Geo News, Geo Kahani, Geo Entertainment and Geo Supper on cable network. PML-N District Pakpattan General Secretary Jamil Faridi said they felt something precious has been lost when Geo was taken off-air. PPP local leader Rao Jamil Hashim said Geo is a reality.

In Malakwal, people said Geo News has been restored but other Geo Network channels have not been restored. They demanded immediate restoration of all Geo Network channels. PML-N Malakwal President Shahid Hussain Shah, PPP District President Rana Muhammad Arif, PML-Q Tehsil Information Secretary Hameedullah Niazi, trader leader Zulfiqar Ali, Press Club President Shahid Mehmood Atif, and other termed Geo restoration the victory of journalism.

In Renala Khurd, Chaudhry Javed Alauddin MPA, Anjuman-e-Tajiran President Ch Saeed Akram, Sajjada Nasheen Darbar Pir Abdul Samad Sahibzada Minhajul Islam, Medical Association President Ch Tahir Riaz and other expressed their joy at restoration of Geo transmission in their city.

Our Correspondent adds fro Burewala: The local cable operators restored Geo News channel on cable and people expressed their joy over its restoration Tuesday.
