Pemra meeting to discuss improvement in standard of TV programmes
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) has called a meeting with stakeholders on what it calls the deteriorating standards of content on private TV channels. “Pemra has been receiving a large number of complaints from viewers on the deteriorating standards of the TV dramas, commercials and morning shows being shown on private channels,” a Pemra release said.
Keeping these issues in mind, Pemra is holding a consultative meeting with relevant stakeholders, namely, Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA), representatives of the private TV channels on Thursday and looks forward to discussing them in detail to bring improvement in the quality and standards of the TV programmes.
