Pemra KP council bans ads by quacks, hakeems
ISLAMABAD: The Council of Complaints KP in a meeting held at Pemra Regional Office Peshawar under the chairmanship of Shakil Chandar directed all cable operators of KP to immediately stop advertisement of quacks and hakeems on their CD channels.
The council also directed the cable operators to provide surety bonds that they would not distribute advertisements of quakes and hakeems on cable networks failing which a strict punitive action will be initiated says a press release.
The council also recommended Pemra to refuse renewal of cable TV licenses of Ms A Plus Cable Network Abbottabad and Ms New Friends Cable Network Haripur for violating Pemra laws. Other Council members including Abdus Sattar Khan, Syed Hammad Hussain Shah, Farah Khan, Farah Sultan Ashraf, Muhammad Irshad and Tariq Mahmood (RGM Secretary COC) were also present in the meeting.
