Pemra confiscates two FM stations
PESHAWAR: As part of its drive to curb illegal FM radio broadcasts in NWFP, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (Pemra) has recently confiscated two more illegal FM radio broadcast stations from Mashugar village, Mohallah Karim Khel, Badaber in Peshawar district and Madrassa Allahoakbar at Par Hoti in Mardan district.
The seizure could only be possible due to the cooperation of SP Rural Peshawar and DPO Mardan. Pemra has put as many as 170 such illegal broadcasts off air out of which 94 transmitters and antennas have so far been confiscated by the authority, says a press release here Wednesday.
