Pearl’s widow arrives in France
PARIS- Mariane Pearl, the widow of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, arrived in Paris from Islamabad, airport sources said.
The French citizen, who is seven months pregnant, was met at Charles de Gualle airport by her family and officials from the US embassy, the sources said.
Mariane Pearl left Pakistan after an agonizing wait in vain for investigators there to recover the body of her husband.
Mariane Pearl, who is also a journalist, received condolences in a meeting with Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf before boarding the plane to France. She was expected to head on to US state of California, where Daniel Pearl’s family lives.
