PAT sends legal notice to TV channel
Pakistan Awami Tahrik has sent a legal notice to Arif Nizami and Chaudhry Ghulam Hussain of TV Channel 24 for making “false, baseless, malicious and frivolous statements” against party chairman Allama Tahirul Qadri. In the notice the party advocate said that ” you have claimed in your talk show that mother of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif contacted Allama Tahirul Qadri and asked him not to join Imran Khan’s protest march at Raiwind. Allama Qadri obliged. Besides you alleged that PAT chief received Rs 80 million as compensation of his expenses.”
The Notice said that PAT chief categorically denies these allegations, therefore Arif Nizami and Chaudhry Ghulam Hussain should tender unconditional apology in their live programme and in failing to do so in 15 days or face legal proceeding against them for payment of Rs 7 billion for making inaccurate and defamatory assertions about Allama Qadri who is a great Islamic scholar and a political leader known all over the world.
