Pakistan Television recovers £1,15,000 from Pasha

ISIAMABAD- Pakistan Television Corporation (PTVC) has recovered an amount of 1,15,000 pounds sterling from Javed Pasha, who under agreement with the then management of the corporation was authorised to reproduce PTV programmes in England through a private foreign channel.

Talking informally to newsmen M Yousaf Beg Mirza, Managing Director of P’I’VC said that after a long litigation process in England, the corporation has managed to recover 1, 15,000 pounds sterling from Javed. He said the agreement which he termed as “funny agreement” was totally against the interest of PTVC, Under the agreement, Javed Pasha paid PTVC 30 dollars per minute for purchase of programmes and the corporation repay the same amount to him after he releases these programme on the foreign channel. Javed Pasha, a close friend of Asif Zardari was benefitted politically through this agreement signed in 1996. To a question, he said that the PTVC also intends to take action against a party, which after recording PTV programmes had been involved in showing these programme, outside the country through private foreign channels.
