Pakistan Television (PTV) union slams move to change programme
ISLAMABAD- The All Pakistan Union of Pakistan Television, at a meeting held at its headquarters, discussed problems faced by the PTV employees due to transfer of the ‘news and current affairs’ programmes, at PTV-World and its conversion into an independent channel.
In a press release, the unions urged that the present set up and status of PTV World should remain unchanged. It said that if an independent news and current affairs channel was necessary, the government should bear all its expenses, including initial capital costs, recurring expenditures and charges for using satellite facilities. The union has decided to pursue the matter with the government at a higher level.
