Pakistan Film, TV Journalists Association registered

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Film and TV Journalists Association was formally registered on Monday aiming to devise a strategy for promoting soft image of the country through proper coverage of cultural events.

Talking to APP here on Monday, Director General Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) Tauqeer Nasir said that the association would be helpful to disseminate message of peace and brotherhood globally through highlighting cultural activities.

He said that besides promoting Pakistani tradition and folk culture, PNCA is also endeavouring to revive instruments which were associated with our culture since long.

He added that PNCA is also trying to popularize street theater and organizing number of cultural activities.

Tauqeer Nasir apprised that a ‘Sufi Aman Mela’ would also be organized in October in collaboration with Pakistan Film and TV Association and Karachi Press Club.

He said that Sufism carries the message of love and affection and it would raise soft image of the country.

He further said that efforts are underway to make federal capital a ‘Cultural City’ in which colors of all traditions of the country would be amalgamated.

The president of the Association Athar Javed Sufi and General Secretary Abdul Waseh Qureshi also lauded the efforts of PNCA for promotion of art and culture in the country.

They commented that the Film and TV Journalists Association would jointly work for the peace building and use their sources to prove that it is a land of affection, brotherhood and tolerance.
