Pakhtun students back BSO on TV channels’ boycott

QUETTA: The provincial chapter of Pakhtun Students Federation (PSF) has supported the campaign of Baloch Students Organisation (BSO) to boycott and block electronic media in Balochistan.

In a press release, the PSF provincial leadership alleged that the electronic media was not showing impartiality and TV channels were discriminating against the Baloch and Pakhtun people. The TV channels are not showing the atrocities being committed against these nations, the release alleged.

The release said that a secret hand was involved in creating problems for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In other provinces, the groups directly involved in violence are given live coverage for hours, but in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, even people’s representatives and political forces are ignored under a deep conspiracy.

The press release warned that TV channels would have to change their unjust treatment of the people of Balochistan, lest all other political forces in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa launch a joint movement against this attitude. The release said the electronic media must evolve a policy for these two provinces and apprise the people of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa about it.
