October 18 tribunal seeks Scotland Yard report
KARACHI (February 29 2008): The Tribunal of Inquiry probing into the twin blast of October 18 in PPPPs’ rally to welcome Benazir Bhutto on Thursday ordered its Liasion Officer to get a copy of a report submitted by the Scotland Yard Investigators to federal government, in a week time.
The tribunal asked SP Niaz Khoso to secure the report if not confidential and submitted a copy under a seal cover to the tribunal. The report contains investigations by foreign investigators into December 27 blast which claimed life of PPPP’s chairperson and 26 others outside Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi.
The tribunal headed by former Justice Dr Ghous Muhammad could not proceed with the inquiry as no witness was available today. The bench noted that Dr Zulfiqar Mirza of PPP was not present despite notice and summons. The tribunal ordered repeating of summons to him at both places for March 6.
