No need to amend Hudood laws: Fazl
DERA ISMAIL KHAN, July 24 2006: Opposition leader in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rahman has said that there is no need for amendment to the Hudood Ordinance as it was in accordance with the Islamic injunctions.
Talking to newsmen at his residence here on July 23, he said the government had contacted the MMA for seeking suggestion on Hudood laws and the component parties of the religious alliance as well as other opposition parties would be consulted on the matter. The Maulana said there was no need for amending the ordinance, however, he said the matter of Hudood laws implementation could be discussed. Welcoming the grand Jirga’s decision of extension in ceasefire in Waziristan. He said Israeli attacks on Lebanon were open aggression and the Ummah should get united against the Zionist state.
