Nisar Hussein Passes away

LAHORE- Renowned television producer and former Pakistan Television (PTV) programmes director Muhammad Nisar Hussein died. He was 68.

Muhammad Nisar Hussein popularly known as MNH had undergone heart surgery in January this year after which he caught arteries infection and finally succumbed to it.

He left behind a wife and three sons. Nisar Hussein, who was awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 1983, was the pioneer of weekly-long play series started in 1981 when he launched Drama 1981.

He worked as the general manager of PTV Lahore during 1997-78 and 1982-88. He also served as the general manager of PTV Islamabad. Hairat Kada, Aik Mohabat So Afsane and Akhri Shab are among his more critically acclaimed plays. He entered into private productions after his retirement from PTV in 1992.
