Newspapers’ dues to be cleared soon: Marri
KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information, Shazia Marri has said that information department has taken serious notice of outstanding dues of the newspapers and has taken very positive steps to resolve the matter. This she said while talking to the members of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) Executive Committee at her office on Tuesday.
She said that it was ensured to remove the grievances of APNS members on priority basis and the government would not make injustice to the members of media. She informed the members of APNS Executive Committee that the Chief Minister Sindh had approved payment schedule to the newspapers and more than 9 crore rupees had been released to the department and the payment process to the newspapers had been started.
She said that it was a historical achievement to get such a huge amount to clear outstanding dues of the newspapers. She added that transparent process would be adopted in this regard and justice would be done with all the stakeholders. She said that the process of payments had been made simple as to avoid any misunderstanding.
