Newspapermen protest for wage award
KARACHI – Journalists and press workers jointly pitched a protest camp on June 29, in front of the Dawn office for implementation of the 7th Wage Board Award.
The camp was organized jointly by the Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) and the All Pakistan Newspapers Employees COnfederation (APNEC) and hosted by the Pakistan Herald Wrokers Union.
Political personalities including the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Shoaib Bukhari, Qamar Mansoor and Abdul Qudoos, the PPP’s Muzaffar Shuja and Habib Junaidi, the PML-N’s Imdad Chandio and Sardar Raheem and office bearers of the Karachi Bar Association and different trade union leaders visited the camp and expressed support for journalists and press workers.
