Newsmen dislodged from press club

Bela Town- The assistant commissioner (AC) has dislodged newsmen from the local press club and locked its premises in retaliatory action against them.

He was annoyed when the newsmen took up the issue of stolen or recovered vehicles being used by the officials, mainly holding important positions, with the visiting chief justice of Balochistan High Court, Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed, recently in Bela.

The assistant commissioner was using a recovered vehicle, a double door pick-up with the registration number of LS 620S.

The enraged AC summoned general secretary of the Bela Press Club, asked him to vacate the rented premises, which belonged to the local municipality. He locked the premises and banned the entry of journalists into the Press Club for daring to raise the issue of recovered vehicles by him.

A general body meeting of the local Press Club was thus held, presided over by A.W. Lasi.
