New radio goes on air in Larkana

LARKANA, Sept 27: The Transmission of a medium-wave rdio station went on air on Wednesday after the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBCC) gave a go-ahead through a faxed message. It is the second radio station in the city with an FM radio station operating in the city for 11 years. The medium-wave transmission will be on 1305 kilohertz, said Muhanuned Ali Bahnbhan, the station director of Radio Pakistan, Larkana. Listeners could tune in to FM at 101 megaÂhertz, he said Both the FM and medium wave radio stations will also air national progranunes. The transmission duration of the two stations will now be 18 hours, which would broaden the listeners’ spectrum and provide opportunities to cultivate local talent, he said. According to the new schedule, the programmes on FM 101 would be aired from 5.45 am to 3.15 pm and the next transmission would be between 5 pm and 11.10 DM. he said.
