New milestone: Express News surpasses 10 million likes on Facebook

KARACHI: Leaving behind the likes of BBC World and CNN, Express News has surpassed the landmark 10 million likes on the social networking website Facebook while it is the biggest media brand of the country with 1.3 million followers on Twitter.

Through these likes, fans have expressed their affinity with Express News, which is soaring to new heights of popularity which no other channel can boast of. Express News has won hearts of more than 10m people through its timely and fact based news, comments and analyses on social media and it is the love of people that the channel values so much.

Express News has allowed full freedom of expression on its social media platform, which the viewers can like or dislike. They can comment on issues, as well as share posts with others and thus the activity has left other organisations like BBC World and CNN behind.

There is no comparison between social pages of Express News and other channels. Sama News is second with 7.9m likes on its page. Dunya News is in third place with 6.3m likes while Aaj News has 5.6m likes to be at the fourth position. Geo News has only 3.5m likes on Facebook. It is 65 per cent behind Express News. Dawn News has more than 3m likes on social media.

Express News is also number one media brand on Twitter.

The Twitter account of the Express News is also ahead of all other channels. It has more than 1.3m followers against 0.6m followers of each of Duniya News and Dawn News, 0.5m followers each of Geo News and Sama News, 0.2m of Aaj News and only 0.1m of Ab Tak.

The website of Express News is also at the top in ranking. There is no other channel ahead of Express News in online journalism because its Urdu website has the honour of being Pakistan’s number one website.

According to the site monitoring website alexa.com, Express.pk is on 13th number and the first among the new websites in Pakistan. By comparison Dawn News website is on 40th number, Duniya News on 47th, Geo News on 85th, Sama News on 97th, Aaj News on 348th and Ab Tak on 1,540th.

The Express.pk team lead by Owais Khan not only deprived Jung from its first position but also left behind other news websites. The proof of the confidence of its users in Pakistan and abroad is that Express.pk is progressing very fast day by day.
