Need for spread of Information technology (IT) knowledge among women

LAHORE- The ministry of science and information technology is going to launch a project for increasing the knowledge about IT among Pakistani women in particular. Komal Akram, Chief Development Officer of I-Managers (I-manager is official media manager of the project of Pakistani Women in Technology) informed the sources after the launching of Lahore Chapter of WIT (Pakistani Women in Technology), said that this project, through WIT intend to invest in human capital and a more sophisticated human resource force.

She added that this project would increase the job opportunities for Pakistani women, as a large number of women could get knowledge of computer and Internet.

Earlier, addressing the ceremony, Parveen Qadri, Federal Secretary for Women Development, Salman Ansari, Advisor to Ministry Science and Information Technology, Humayun Mian, Chairman PITAB and Dr. Zahur, an expert from LUMS stressed the need for the computer literacy for the Pakistani women. They said that this project would not only increase the capabilities of the Pakistani women but would also open new avenues of women development.
