BAHAWALPUR: Senior journalist and Daily The Nation Correspondent in Bahawalpur, Muhammad Afzaal Hameed who passed away on Monday was laid to rest in his native graveyard Noor Shah Bukhari. The deceased was 74.

Earlier, his funeral was offered which was attended by a large number of people from all walks of life including local leadership of political parties, lawyers, teachers and a large number of journalists.

Late Afzaal Hameed had been associated with Daily TheNation for almost 30 years and had rendered invaluable services for the journalist community.

He was a righteous man and always raised voice for the right of voiceless. The entire team of TheNation expressed heartfelt sorrows over the sad demise of Mr Afzaal Hameed and pray Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace. TheNation staff also stands by the bereaved family in this hour of grief.

Qul for the departed soul will be offered at his residence Model Town C-block at 4pm on Tuesday (today).
